An exploration of mental health through Haiku.
The emotion that is being presented to you may be a mask for the underlying issue.
Anger can be a helpful emotion, it can help us overcome fear in order to take action to protect ourselves. It can also be a mask for our sadness encouraging forward, although not always productive, action.
Feelings of sadness can become overwhelming which can result in a state of depression, which is an attempt to numb the overwhelming emotions being felt. Alternatively we might see anger coming out as the opposite side of the protective seeking equation.
The problem with either of these masks is they don't solve the underlying issue. They prevent the deep therapeutic healing that is needed to allow ourselves to release the sadness and truly move forward.
Allowing ourselves to acknowledge and see through our own masks is the first step in the process.
